Abstract

This article aims to analyze the conception of a new education from the perspective of Anísio Teixeira, with an emphasis on science and freedom. It is assumed that the expansion of science is related to certain factors beyond the renewal of the school, such as the means of production and human subsistence, democracy and industrialism. In this sense, based on a reality experienced in contemporary times, the following problem was solved: What is the relationship between men and the dynamics of life in society? And how does the ideal of new school thinking contribute to an innovative education? The bibliographic research adopted allowed us to reflect on the critical construction of the subject within their daily spaces. Thus, the main documents for the analysis were based on Teixeira (1955; 1957; 1971), as well as on the authors Dewey (1979), Oliveira (2010) and Rousseau (1995). Among the usual school issues, the discussion of teacher training and the renewal of pedagogical theories stands out. In view of this, thinking about overcoming the traditional teaching model as an integral organism means expanding the subject's repertoire in the school environment to form a good, harmonious citizen who responds to and meets needs outside this space as well; it is, above all, aiming at the school as a model of society.

Nayara Teles Antunes, Universidade Estadual de Maringá

Mestra em Educação pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá - UEM na linha de pesquisa História e Historiografia da Educação. Possui Graduação em Pedagogia pela Faculdade Astorga - FAAST (2018) e Especialização em Educação Especial - com Ênfase na Deficiência Múltipla (2020), e em Educação Infantil - Práticas em Sala de Aula (2021), ambas pela Faculdade Unina. Atua como Professora De Educação Infantil na Educação Básica da Prefeitura Municipal de Astorga/PR. Participa do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em História da Educação, Intelectuais e Instituições Escolares - GEPHEIINSE (UEM). Atualmente é membro do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Educação: Teoria e Prática - GEPE (UNESPAR).

Maria Cristina Gomes Machado, Universidade Estadual de Maringá

Maria Cristina Gomes Machado holds a PhD in Philosophy and History of Education (1999) from the State University of Campinas - UNICAMP. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Pedagogy (1987) and a Master's degree in Foundations of Education (1993), both from the State University of Maringá - UEM. She completed a postdoctoral internship in Education (2010) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG. She is a Full Professor at the State University of Maringá - UEM, where she has worked since 1990. She currently teaches courses in the undergraduate courses in Pedagogy, in person; she works in the Postgraduate Program in Education - Master's and Doctorate; and she is the coordinator of the Documentation Center - CDO/UEM.

Laís Pacifico Martineli, Universidade Estadual de Maringá

She holds a PhD in Education from the Postgraduate Program in Education at the State University of Maringá (UEM). She graduated in Pedagogy from the State University of Maringá (2011). She is a member of the Study and Research Group on the History of Education, Intellectuals and School Institutions (GEPHEIINSE). She has experience in elementary education, in-person and distance higher education. She is currently a temporary professor (CRES) at the Pedagogy Board at the State University of Paraná, Campo Mourão campus. She develops studies in the line of research on History and Historiography of Education, with an emphasis on the history of Children's Literature and the student and school press.
